I Made $56.96 Cashing in Scrap Metal Today !

About a month and a half ago I cashed in some miscellaneous scrap metal and made $36.95.  The blog post on that experience is here. >>> http://ihavesexwithstrangers.blogspot.com/search?q=insulated

In the past month and a half I accumulated 23 pounds of old electric cords, computer cords and junky extension cords that were laying around collecting dust.  That brought in $1.20 a pound = $27.60.

There was an old brass propeller and miscellaneous copper plumbing fittings that came off of  disposed of water heaters.  Also a found wine cooler canister that was made of brass too.   I was paid $1.90 a pound for all of that copper / brass scrap metal.  16 pounds times $1.90 a pound = $30.40.

8 pounds of aluminum cans at 53 cents a pound, came to $4.24.

I had 4 pieces from an old weight lifting set laying around.  They were three 10 pound weights and one 5 pound weight.  The scale said they weighed 36 pounds times 2 cents a pound for scrap steel.  Those weights brought in 72 cents.

A grand total of $56.96.  Cashing in scrap metal is well worth it IMO.  It is good for the environment and it is good for your pocketbook.  Especially if you are not going out of your way.  If you are simply saving and storing the scrap metal items and drive by the scrap metal redemption place to cash it in, it is like found money.

Just think, if they are paying me $56.96 for what is a pile of junk to me, how much value it has to them when that $56.96 pile of junk is melted down and resold.

$56.96 is a nice little pile of "found money".  :)
